Babak Tafreshi, born in Tehran in 1978 and now based in Boston, is an Iranian-American science photojournalist and the founder of TWAN. He has worked with National Geographic and received the 2009 Lennart Nilsson Award. Starting his career with night sky photography in the 1990s in Iran, Tafreshi has created numerous astronomy-related media.
