New Moon, Planets, and Winter Stars By: Tunc Tezel |

The young moon appears below a pair of bright planets, Venus and Jupiter, in this early spring evening in Turkey. The Pleiades star cluster appears right above Venus, and notable winter constellations of Orion and Canis Major are on the left. Click on the star-pattern icon above the image to see a closer view of the celestial meeting captured earlier in the evening, from the same location in Dagyenice Reservoir, about 20 km to the southwest of Bursa.
