Celestial Neighbors By: Amir H. Abolfath |

Photographed through a telescope, crescent Moon meets planet Venus in a close conjunction. Note the Earthshine on the dark side of the Moon; reflected sunlight from the Earth faintly illuminating the dark (night) side of the Moon. While Moon is generally the closest celestial body to the Earth, Venus is the closest planet (in terms if average orbital distance) to the Earth. Amir Abolfath/Torgheh.ir/en
