The Full Moon rises above the medieval village and castle of Monsaraz in Portugal. From the photographer: "Aprilís full moon is known as the Pink Moon, according to the Old Farmerís Almanac. The name comes from pink flowers that bloom in the early spring, known as ground phlox. But this April Moon was particularly interesting to photograph as the sun was in the sky for about 20 minutes after the moonrise, providing illumination on the landscape and this beautiful medieval village in Alqueva Dark Sky Reserve. To create this visual impact with the illusion that the Moon seems to be so big when compared with the terrestrial subject, I had to find the right spot located at a distant of about 3.7 km away from the castle. The result is a single shot captured with a 600mm telephoto lens."
