A starry night of Mauna Kea Observatory in all sky view (full dome). In this predawn moment, the winter Milky Way passes overhead and over is the east is the cone-shaped Zodiacal Light, scattered sunlight from dusk in the Solar System's plane. Last, Large Magellanic Cloud also appears as a shiny cloud at the bottom.

Located at altitude of about 4200 m over the Pacific Ocean, the Mauna Kea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii is one of the world's best observing locations, home to over a dozen giant telescopes. Click on the constellation icon above the image to see another all-sky view of Mauna Kea in a moonlit night. Tunc Tezel
