Haraz Evening Alignment

By: Amir H. Abolfath

Region: Middle East

Site: Alborz Mountains - Iran

Date: 2014 Sep 29

Mars, Antares, Moon, and Saturn are the brightest in this serene sky. The evening gathering of wandering planets and Moon along the ecliptic line is highlighted by close appearance of Mars and Antares, the brightest star in constellation Scorpius, with the name that means the rival of Mars. On the Earth is the Haraz valley curving through the Alborz Mountains of Iran and connecting Tehran and the Caspian Sea. Amir Abolfath,
