One Second Meteor

Region: Americas

Site: Escalante National Monument - USA

Date: 2013 May 18

An extremely lucky meteor photo is captured through a natural arch in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, southern Utah. Added by the photographer: "I was deep in remote Utah's Escalante national monument territory at Devil's Garden. I thought I would test out the capabilities of my new Canon 6D camera. So I took a single one second exposure at its maximum stretched ISO of 25400. I normally shoot only 1600-3200 at night but had to test this. And within one second exposure captured this meteor right in the center and next to the North America Nebulae in Cygnus!" Wally Pacholka,
