Bears above the Castle By: Gernot Meiser |
Region: Europe Date: September 2012 | |||
The evening twilight turns to darkness in this view from the historic castle of Saareck in Saarland, Germany. The prominent figures of the northern sky, the Little and Big Dippers, appear over the castle. They are asterism in the constellations Ursa Major (Big Bear) and Ursa Minor (Little Bear) which hosts the North Star, Polaris. Click on the constellation icon above the image to see a wider panoramic view of this scene.
