Each August, as planet Earth swings through dust trailing along the orbit of periodic comet Swift-Tuttle, skygazers enjoy the Perseid Meteor Shower. In 2011 the shower peaked in a full moon night but still some meteors could be spotted in the brightly illuminated sky. This image is a composite result of many images made from this location through a wide-angle lens in two nights during the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower. While all meteors are related to the shower radiant in constellation Perseus (upper left) the bright streak near the horizon is a sporadic meteor (nor related to a meteor shower).
