As the Earh rotates in this late winter night stars trail around the north celestial pole above the ancient Anund "stone ship" in Västerås, Sweden. Click on the star-pattern icon above the image to see a short exposure image displaying stars of the Ursa Major and Ursa Minor above this scenery. Stone ships were made around grave or cremation burial in form of surrounding stones in the outline of a ship. As noted by the photographer "Two large stone ships are placed end to end, each about 50 meters long. They were made for the vikings to travel to Valhalla (hall of the chosen dead) after they died. They are one of the largest stone ships in Sweden." P-M Heden/
