The southern Milky Way and a streaking meteor is captured over Hanga Roa, the main town in the Easter Island, Pacific Ocean. The statue (known as a Moai) is one of many similar human figures dating to 1250 to 1500 AD found at this World Heritage Site. Wally Pacholka/Astropics.com
