The morning twilight ends a starry night of Mangaia; a 10 km wide island in the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean in the Cook Islands. Our galactic neighbors, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds are visible at right (south) and prominent figure of constellation Orion rises in the east (left). Mangaia is a volcanic remnant that has the distinction of being the oldest island in the Pacific dating back to about 18 million years ago. Tunc Tezel
