Stars trail around the south celestial pole in this 6-hour exposure photograph on film. The foreground is the Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran, Australia. The observatory includes the famous 3.9 meters Anglo-Australian Telescope which is inside the dome shown in this image. The observatory is situated on Mount Woorat also known as Siding Spring Mountain surrounded by Warrumbungle National Park. There are currently a dozen telescopes on this site.
