Village Sky and Shooting Star By: Amir H. Abolfath |

The annual Geminid meteor shower, which peaks on December 13/14, is one of the most beautiful meteor displays. The shower is created as planet Earth sweeps through dusty debris from extinct comet Phaethon. In this photograph from a village in Zagros mountains of Iran a bright meteor (fireball) strikes the northwestern sky. Amir Abolfath - Torgheh.ir/en
