Winter stars and the Milky Way shine above a large bas-relief of ancient Persia. In this fish-eye view which extends from one horizon to the opposite side of the sky bright star Capella is in the middle, with Taurus and Pleiades star cluster above it (overhead) and Orion at the upper right. Located near Persepolis in Fars province of Iran, this site is known as Naqsh-e Rajab. The site includes 4 amazing bas relief and a inscription displaying the kings of Sassanid period, from 3rd century. Photographed here is the bas-relief known as Shapur's Parade which celebrates the king Shapur military victory in 244 AD over the Roman emperor. Babak Tafreshi/Dreamview.net
