Moon and Jupiter above Quimper Cathedral By: Laurent Laveder |
Region: Europe Date: 2010 September 23 | |||
|
The Full Moon shines above the cathedral of Quimper in the Brittany of France. But there are other attractions in the image goo. An atmospheric corona around the moon and planet Jupiter on the right as seen in the close-up inset the much further away planet Uranus is just above Jupiter along with 2 Galilean satellites of Jupiter. The two planets were in close conjunction in our sky during September 2010. Uranus is 5 times farther away and almost 3,000 times dimmer than Jupiter. Laurent Laveder/Pixheaven.net
