The Galaxy above Mount Hood By: Wally Pacholka |
Region: Americas Site: Mount Hood - USA Date: July 2010 | |||
|
The band of the Milky Way and bright star Altair in the constellation Aquila rises above Mount Hood, the highest mountain (3428m) in the state of Oregon, northwestern US. The last eruption of this volcano was in 1866. As added by the photographer "The appearance of the mountain through mist and clouds and the Milky Way above was a scene to remember. It has been said that one of the arguments for the existence of God is
the existence of Beauty. Although there are sharp minds on both sides of the God issue, but on the beauty issue it is pretty much a self evident closed case. Beauty does exist! "Wally Pacholka/Astropics.com
