Summer Triangle above a Sea of Clouds By: Kwon O Chul |
Region: Asia Date: May 2010 | |||
|
The Milky Way and bright stars of the Summer Triangle shine above a sea of clouds covering nearby towns and villages in Geumsan County of the South Korea. The view is captured from Mount Daedunsan. To recognize the constellations and the triangle in click on the star-pattern icon above the image. The Summer Triangle is an asterism; an eye-catching pattern of stars visible to the naked-eye, as a part of one or several constellations, but not an official constellation itself. The three bright stars of the triangle are located in three different constellations: Altair (of Aquila), Deneb (of Cygnus), and Vega (of Lyra). Kwon, O Chul - AstroKorea.com/kwon572
