Winter Triangle and Windmill

By: Tamas Ladanyi

Region: Europe

Site: Veszprem - Hungary

Date: February 2010

Three bright stars make Winter Triangle asterism (an eye-catching pattern of stars visible to the naked-eye, as a part of one or several constellations, but not an official constellation itself): Sirius (center), Procyon (top left) and Betelgeuse (upper right). The yellow-red Betelgeuse is easy to locate, being a shoulder of constellation Orion which is completely visible at upper right of this image. The moonlit Winter landscape is in Tes plateau of Hungary; a region famous for its old windmills. Tamas Ladanyi/
