Gemini in Motion from Inside and Outside By: Stephane Guisard |

Time-lapse video: Turn on your speaker and watch this amazing video of how one of the world's largest telescopes is operating above the Chilean dry and starry desert. Moonlight has illuminated the landscape and two cameras make this multi-hour time-lapse shooting from inside and outside of the observatory. Gemini Observatory consists of two 8-meter telescopes in northern hemisphere (Hawaii) and southern hemisphere (Chile). Photographed here, Gemini South is located in Andes Mountains above Atacama Desert of Chile. Its location makes for excellent viewing conditions due to the superb atmospheric conditions.
