The Milky Way shines above the shores of Cape Spear, the eastern most point of the North America in the Newfoundland province of Canada. Note a wandering iceberg near coast. The region was the first point of North America that the European explorer John Cabot landed in 1497, which tells the reason for the name of the province. All waters in the eastern coasts of Newfoundland is nicknamed Iceberg Alley. Here icebergs born 10,000 years ago on the Greenland icecap arrives from along journey and dance along the coast and far out to sea and breaking into fantastic shapes before melting in the warm waters of the gulf stream.
