Night Arrives in Easter Island By: Stephane Guisard |
Region: Australia and Pacific Site: Easter Island - Chile Date: September 2009 | |||
|
As night arrives in this isolated location in the Pacific Ocean, the Milky Way emerges above giant statues of the ancient Easter Island civilization. Its a bizarre experience to stand besides a giant Moais in a dark starry night of Easter Island. These statues, which are locally called Moais, are remained from 13th to 15th century. Here a group of 6 moais, known as Ahu NauNau, are photographed. Stephane Guisard - Astrosurf.com/sguisard
