Bizzare Sky View |
Region: Middle East Site: Qeshm Island - Iran Date: September 2009 | |||
|
The Milky Way emerges in the sky as darkness arrives over a bizarre natural wonder of Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf. (See a day-time view of the location). As described by the photographer "it was a scene of StarWars, like being in another planet. Although the sound of a creeping snake reminds me of where I was standing! It was like an opening gate to the stars. The valley, named Chahkouh (well mountain), is so narrow that its giant walls (reaching 50meters high) are only some meters apart. It is tectonic but curved by water and air over the time." Babak Tafreshi/Dreamview.net
