The all-sky view above a lonely tree in southwestern France demonstrates the northern hemisphere winter Milky Way, arching from one horizon to the other. The cone-shape glow on the left is the zodiacal light (sunlight reflection from dust in the solar system plane), easily visible above the western horizon.It almost reaches the arch of the Milky Way.
