In an early morning sky of La Palma the zodiacal light, made by the sunlight reflection from dust in the solar system disc, stretches many degrees above the horizon and merged with the winter Milky Way. The image is photographed at the 2400 meter Roque de los Muchachos observatory in La Palma, one of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off Africa and a place for number of the world-leading observatories (dimly visible in the foreground).
