Brittany All-sky View

Region: Europe

Site: Brittany - France

Date: July 2008

An all-sky image from the coast of Atlantic Ocean (the Bay of Biscay) in Brittany of France. While light pollution of nearby cities dominates more than half of the horizon, the sky toward the Atlantic Ocean (south to east) is dark all the way to the horizon. Band of the Summer Milky Way cross the night sky from the south west to the north east. Also notable in the image is the light of bright planet Jupiter reflecting on the Atlantic waters to the left of the posing photographer. To experience this night as it was seen by the photographer click on this link, allow few moments so the flash video loads, and have a nice time visiting the coast of Brittany at night!
