The first The World at Night exhibition is hosted and organized by Konica Minolta Plaza, an art gallery located in Shinjuku, the major business and government administration center of Tokyo, near to Shinjuku Station (known as the busiest train station in the world). Being very well located at the commercial center of the metropolitan TWAN look forward to bring the messages of its starry images to a large number of visitors.

Publication of a TWAN book in Japanese in 2012 introduced The World at Night imagery to art and photography communities in Japan. Based on a selection of over 30 photos from the book, The World at Night exhibition will be open to public from June 7 to 24, 2013. Media are welcome to the opening evening on Friday June 7. According to TWAN-Japan member and coordinator Shingo Takei will be at the opening.

The photos displayed on the right show the gallery rooms during the previous exhibition by two TWAN Japanese photographers. TWAN-Japan member and coordinator Shingo Takei exhibited "Starry Place" in September 2009 during the International Year of Astronomy, and Yuichi Takasaka (TWAN-Canada member) displayed his aurora photo collection in January 2013.
