2015 July 1

From the photographer: "An early evening image of a Venus-Jupiter conjunction on 1st July 2015, one day following closest visual separation. The landscape is illuminated by the moon behind the camera and Venus is softened due to fog and the scene is mirrored in the calm Genoa River. The area is part of the Croajingolong National Park, which UNESCO nominated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1977. It is also a dark sky site being more than 400 km east of the state capital Melbourne."
Technical details: Single-exposure, Canon 5D MkII, Canon 28-105mm @ 105mm f/8, ISO-6400, 10s.
