Lost in the City Lights

From the photographer: "Mesmerized by the city lights in front of me I witnessed our closest celestial neighbors, bright Venus and to its left, Mars, above the lower Manhattan skyline. Unfortunately, light pollution from these dazzling structures also washes out most of the stars in the urban night sky sparing only a few bright celestial objects. This causes majority of the urban population to be completely oblivious to the stellar show a dark night sky can put on, a forlorn accord with our modern lifestyle."
