From the photographer: "Pinching The North Star - Syracuse - UNESCO World Heritage Site, the baroque facade of the Duomo has been captured. Different architectonic elements can be appreciated such as many external sculptures: Saint Lucia, Saint Marciano, the Virgin Mary, Saint Peter and Paul. Here Saint Paul keeps upon his finger the north star Polaris whilst all the other stars rotate around his hand in a very extreme star trail. The light pollution of the city and artistic lights used to empathize the style of the cathedral almost make impossible to catch the faint light of the stars. A double exposure have been used to compensate for such an extreme contrast that only human eyes and vision are able to catch."
