Winter Constellations Panorama

By: Mahdi Zamani

Mesr Desert, Isfahan, Iran

2009 December

From the photographer: "Constellations (left to right): Canis major, Orion (the hunter), Taurus and Cassiopeia. In the foreground is an old structure built for protecting a water channel. In the sky you can also see hot nebulae as dark red bands. The winter Milky Way band of stars stretches from left to right in the frame." - Mahdi Zamani
