Crossroads Under the Stars |
Leh, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, India 2010 July 01 | |||
From the photographers: "Leh is a old trading town in the crossroads of Himalayan routes. It is also the pit stop while traveling from Delhi to the Himalayan Chandra Telescope at Hanle. Till recently this was the highest observatory in the world. While acclimatizing our bodies for the high altitude observatory at Hanle, we clicked this picture from a Buddhist Temple. Leh Town, Stok Glacier, Butterfly cluster, Sting of Scorpius, stars of Lupus and Norma can be seen in the picture. The snow capped peaks are lit by the rising moon." - Ajay Talwar, Vikrant Narang, Raghu Kalra All TWAN photos and videos are copyrighted.
