From the photographer: "Southeast, Alaska is a rain forest but the summer of 2009 was the warmest, driest summer on record. Here we are camped on a gravel beach on Prince of Wales Island with Ursa Major, the Big Dipper, poised right above our tent. I was out in shorts and a T-shirt, a rare evening event in this part of the world." - Chip Porter
