Harvest Moon Bridge

By: Miguel Claro

Almada, Portugal

2009 October 03

From the photographer: "I photographed the 'Harvest Moon' on this special night, when the full moon occurs closest to the northern autumnal equinox (Sept. 22). To compose this image I found an impressive view over the Tagus river and the city of Lisbon. The rocks in the scene are illuminated by local street lighting and by moonlight.

In the picture we can see the setting moon behind the famous bridge 'Ponte 25 de Abril', which connects the city of Almada to Portugal's capital, Lisbon. This bridge is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA." - Miguel Claro
