Conjunction in Hong Kong

Mai Po Nature Reserve, Hong Kong

2008 December 31

From the photographer: "Place: Mai Po Nature Reserve in Hong Kong for birds and a place of extensive fish farming." More details from the photographer: "31st December: Conjunction at its best; the part of the Moon lit by light from Earth is visible too; the grey heron is still busy fishing. Unable to set camera parameters accurately. Though I could not see the large mosquitoes around, I was surrounded and harassed by a nebulae of millimeter size Marshian midgets, whose bite inflame, get infected and last for at least a week (had forgotten my mosquito screen jacket)."
