Comet Holmes Above Damavand

By: Farzad Zamanfar

Mount Damavand, Iran

2007 November 18

A windy autumn night at slopes of Mount Damavand, one of the world's highest live volcanos. Among the clouds in top right corner, the extra star close to Alpha Persei (Mirfak) is the erupted Comet Holmes. As noted by the photographer "I took this photo from Polur near Mt. Damavand. I used a canon EOS40D, 16 seconds exposure with a 15mm fisheye sigma lens f/2.8 at Iso 1000". Farzad Zamanfar
