Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park sits on the southern edge of the vast Canadian boreal forest. In early summer, the park is a mecca for birders looking to see boreal forest bird species. Situated on an island in Lac La Biche, the park is a popular summer camping destination. It's location is also well situated for viewing northern lights, as can be seen in this photo looking north across the lake. In winter, a well traveled ice road starts right beside this dock and is a gateway to the frozen north."
